If Preston was a city, then where is the catheral?
And as some would say, If Preston is a city then where is the Airport?
Do you need an airport to be a City?

He is from the north isn't he?

Yeh Chris is from up north, but i noticed, he left preston as soon as his show was finished.
I guess he never went into the town centre, what a nightmare he would of found if he had gone shopping.

There you said it, Town Centre - surely if you use Town Centre in general conversation, then it must be a town...

I don't think having a passport will make any difference to visiting Preston or whether or not you refer to it as a city

You don't need a cathedral or airport to be a city. City status is a rare mark of distinction granted by the Sovereign and conferred by Letters Patent. It is granted by personal Command of the Queen
The city status was given to Preston in 2002

I find the fact that everyone is so quick to judge Preston as a 'joke' City rather insulting. I've lived in Preston all my life and as much I do want to explore and possible live in new places throughout my life I will not forgot where I came from and I'm sick off everyone moaning about Preston becoming a City. Especially people who don't realise that you don't have to have a Cathederal or Airport (of all things!?) to become a City.
